In 2017, U.S. cross-border exports of professional services totaled $163.1 billion, while imports totaled $96.8 billion. This yielded a trade surplus of $66.3 billion. Exports increased by 7.1 percent from 2016, while imports increased by 4.6 percent. The EU, Switzerland, and Singapore were the largest markets for U.S. cross-border exports of professional services and the EU, India, and Canada were the largest suppliers of imports.
