In 2017, U.S. cross-border exports of services to Mexico totaled $32.4 billion, while imports totaled $25.4 billion. This yielded a services trade surplus of $7.1 billion. Exports increased by 4.0 percent from 2016, while imports increased by 5.8 percent. Travel services accounted for the largest share of U.S. cross-border exports of services to Mexico (64.3 percent), and electronic services accounted for the second-largest share (8.7 percent). Travel services also accounted for the largest share of U.S. cross-border imports of services from Mexico (76.7 percent), and professional services accounted for the second-largest share (8.8 percent).
