In 2017, U.S. cross-border exports of services to the EU totaled $242.0 billion, while imports totaled $192.0 billion. This yielded a services trade surplus of $50.0 billion. Exports increased by 3.4 percent from 2016, while imports increased by 7.1 percent. Professional services accounted for the largest share of U.S. cross-border exports of services to the EU (25.4 percent), and travel services accounted for the second-largest share (20.8 percent). Travel services accounted for the largest share of U.S. cross-border imports of services from the EU (30.1 percent), and professional services also accounted for the second-largest share (19.7 percent).
