Investigations Database System (IDS) 2.3, the latest version of the USITC’s investigation data repository, is live and includes new and exciting features and user experience improvements.
- Enhanced export functionality: users can now download custom search results that can include one multiple entry field.
- Added help documentation FAQ link to Custom Export page.
- Default field selections enabled for custom exports.
- Support for partial participant name searches.
- Added Initiating Document Received Date to search results.
- Redesigned layout for 1205 investigations.
- Import Injury investigations now support "Not Applicable" (N/A) for additional date fields.
- Relevancy scores removed from search results for clarity.
- Internal Remands fields reorganized and relabeled for improved usability.
As noted when IDS 2.0 was launched, development work in IDS is ongoing this calendar year. For a list of the improvements previously deployed in 2.0, 2.1, and 2.2, please see below:
- Application redesign utilizing the United States Web Design System (USWDS) guidelines, improving accessibility, mobile-first features, and better usability.
- Text fields in Advanced Search now support an exact match option.
- New “Other Conferences and Hearings” submodule added to Unfair Import and Factfinding investigation phase pages. This submodule will permit the display of data on any additional hearings/conferences that occur outside of the regularly scheduled hearing/conference.
- A new sub-module for Unfair Import Orders that lists the Order Expiration Date and Status.
- Internal Remand modules in Unfair Import investigations now support Procedural History.
- The ability to display “N/A” in Factfinding investigation pages when a date is not applicable to that investigation.
- Download Search Results: You can now download Advanced Search results as an Excel file.
- Improved Investigation Pages: Sections have been rearranged for better flow.
- Streamlined Display: The system hides less commonly used sections by default when they contain no information.
- New Alert Banners: Investigation pages now feature banners highlighting when a Factfinding investigation is recurring, or an Unfair Import investigation has an internal remand.
- Integrated Publications Search: From an Unfair Import Investigation Documents section with an investigation, you can now click on a link to quickly search the USITC’s Publications Library for that investigation.

- Enhanced Navigation: The Advanced Search left navigation options now automatically collapse for easier navigation.
- A new “Custom Export” option allows users to select top-level investigation data fields for inclusion in their search results export file.
- Search results alert users to linked, consolidated, and/or related investigations when displaying results.
- Users may select the ‘on’ operator for date fields so that results are restricted to specific dates.
- Users may select “N/A” as an option when searching for dates.
- Home page quick link search results now sort by date by default rather than relevancy.
