Staged FTA Rates

The United States has many trade agreements that result in reduced or duty-free treatment on eligible goods. The special duty rates are based on the agreement texts with schedules of concessions, which are the result of bilateral and multilateral negotiations. For some products, duties are not immediately eliminated but are reduced in stages over several years. The instruments listed below provide these “staged rates” for the trade agreement partner.
