In 2016, U.S. cross-border exports of travel services totaled $244.7 billion, while imports totaled $160.8 billion. This yielded a trade surplus of $83.9 billion. Exports decreased by 1.1 percent from 2015, while imports increased by 7.1 percent. The EU, China, and Mexico were the largest markets for U.S. cross-border exports of travel services, while the EU, Mexico, and Canada were the largest suppliers of imports.
