In 2016, U.S. cross-border exports of professional services totaled $151.0 billion, while imports totaled $91.7 billion. This yielded a trade surplus of $59.3 billion. Exports increased by 7.1 percent from 2015, while imports increased by 1.0 percent. The EU, Canada, and Singapore were the largest markets for U.S. cross-border exports of professional services, while the EU, Canada, and India were the largest suppliers of imports.
