In 2016, U.S. cross-border exports of services to Canada totaled $53.5 billion, while imports totaled $29.7 billion. This yielded a services trade surplus of $23.8 billion. Exports decreased by 1.1 percent from 2015, while imports increased by 2.8 percent. Travel services accounted for the largest share of U.S. cross-border exports of services to Canada (35.6 percent), and professional services accounted for the second-largest share (19.0 percent). Travel services also accounted for the largest share of U.S. cross-border imports of services from Canada (28.7 percent), and professional services also accounted for the second-largest share (23.0 percent).
