Official 2017 HTS Now Available
The official 2017 Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) of the United States (the 2017 Basic HTS) is now available on the USITC web site and via the HTS Search application.
The 2017 Basic HTS includes:
- changes proclaimed by the President on December 2 and 15, 2016, including all changes to conform to modifications to the Harmonized System nomenclature as recommended by the World Customs Organization to take effect January 1, 2017;
- statistical changes approved by the Committee for Statistical Annotation of the Tariff Schedules (also known as the "484(f) Committee,” which analyzes and evaluates petitions requesting changes in HTS and Schedule B statistical reporting), effective as of January 1, 2017;
- staged reductions in preferential duty rates applicable under existing (already proclaimed) free trade agreements and effective as of January 1, 2017; and
- cumulative changes that took effect during calendar year 2016 as reflected in the on-line HTS available on the USITC website (see the Change Record). Users may download the HTS data in a variety of formats, including comma delimited, Excel spreadsheet, and machine-readable JSON formats.
The printed version of the 2017 Basic HTS will be available within a few weeks and can be ordered from the Government Publishing Office.
