USITC NAMED ONE OF GOVERNMENT'S "BEST PLACES TO WORK"

Agency Ranked 9th of 29 Small Federal Agencies, Recognized as Most Improved Small Agency

The U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) is one of the top 10 best small federal government agencies to work for, according to the Partnership for Public Service's 2013 Best Places to Work in the Federal Government.

The agency was #9 among the 29 small agencies included in the annual rankings produced by the Partnership for Public Service (Partnership) and Deloitte, which were released yesterday.

The USITC was recognized as the most improved small agency by the Partnership. The USITC's overall employee satisfaction score increased by more than 9 percentage points over its 2012 score, when it ranked 22nd of 29 agencies. This improvement was the most significant for any agency surveyed, across all size categories. The USITC's 2013 scores increased over 2012 levels in each of the nine workplace categories for which it was scored.

The rankings measure federal employee job satisfaction and commitment and are based on responses submitted by federal employees to an annual governmentwideFederal Employee Viewpoint Survey conducted by the Office of Personnel Management. Additional survey data from eight agencies and the Intelligence Community also are included in the results.

The rankings cover 371 federal agencies and subcomponents that represent 97 percent of the federal workforce. The agencies are ranked by category based on size (large agency, mid-size agency, small agency, and federal subcomponent). Agencies are scored for employee satisfaction overall and in 10 workplace categories, such as effective leadership, pay, strategic management, training and development, teamwork, employee skills-mission match, and work-life balance.
