The U.S. International Trade Commission will hold a two-day public hearing on Wednesday, March 21 and Thursday, March 22, 2007, in connection with its Section 337 investigation involving Certain Baseband Processor Chips and Chipsets, Transmitter and Receiver (Radio) Chips, Power Control Chips, and Products Containing Same, Including Cellular Handsets. The case involves a patent infringement dispute between Broadcom Corporation of Irvine, CA, and Qualcomm Incorporated of San Diego, CA.
The hearing will focus on the issues of remedy and the public interest. Presentations concerning the violation determinations already made in the case will not be permitted.
Media interested in covering this hearing are advised that space in the ITC Main Hearing Room is expected to be extremely limited. Therefore, it is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED that all interested media register in advance to cover the hearing.
Interested media should contact Peg O'Laughlin at 202-205-1819 as soon as possible but no later than 12 p.m. (noon) on Friday, March 16, 2007, to make arrangements for coverage.
An overflow room with an internal feed will be available for those who cannot be accommodated in the Main Hearing Room. The ITC is unable to provide a web cast or other audio/video feed of the hearing.
