Report Description/Introductory Text: USITC economic assessment of the U.S.-Colombia trade promotion agreement. The USITC report assesses economic effects of the U.S.-Colombia TPA on the U.S. economy and on specific U.S. economic sectors. The report assesses provisions of the U.S.-Colombia agreement in market access; trade facilitation including customs administration, technical barriers to trade, sanitary and phytosanitary regulations, electronic commerce, and transparency; investment; and the regulatory environment including safeguards and trade remedies, government procurement, the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights, labor, and the environment. The USITC economic assessment of the U.S.-Colombia free trade agreement employs a global CGE model for a quantitative assessment of the impact of the TPA market access provisions. Other economic effects of the U.S.-Colombia TPA were assessed using qualitative analysis.
